THE TAIJIQUAN(Tai-Chi Chuan):has been the main activity at La Bartra since 1989. CLICK TO ZOOM
Tai-chi is an internal martial art that uses the outer strength and   awakens the inner strength of the person. This idea can be explained   by means of the Taoist term "wu-wei", literally translated as "no   action". This can be clarified a little more by comparing a sailor with   an oar and another with a sail. The first, uses muscular strength, while   the second uses intelligence, by using the wind's strength and the water's little resistance. For this reason, Tai-chi is a technique that helps us to live with fluidity, gentleness, harmony and efficacy.

PRACTICE: Coordinating the mind, the breathing and the body movement together with the alignment of the spine and using the minimum CLICK TO ZOOM effort (as Chen'eng-Fu used to say:   "move 1000 kg using 100gr".) we reach a state of relaxation and   quietness that will allow us to move more easily and with a broader   conscience. Like the water adapting to the natural river course, the   Tai-chi's movement adapts to each person, regardless of their   physical constitution, health or age. When this adjustment takes place   and its accepted correctly, the benefits of Tai-chi's practise, can either be experienced by a 20 year old athlete or a 99 year old person.
Those who practise Tai-chi everyday, gain the flexibility of a child, the strength of a woodcutter, the health of a panther and the mental peace of a wiseman.

THEME: Based on the combination of different works of Tai-chi Chuan. Yang style shapes: Zhuji Gong, 24 movements and Dui Lie ( 2 people shape CLICK TO ZOOM shape of 48 movements   (includes four main styles: Yang, Chen, Wu y Sun) shape of 36 and 56   Chen style movements, the 108 Taoist Taiji movements, Wudang,   Thuishou (hands that listen and body that acts), Taiji Sword creates Yang   of 32 movements, Qui Gong (energetic gymnastics), meditation ( learning   from quietness and silence), as well as those parallel techniques of   awareness and unblocking the body. The aim of all these works is to   develop physical aspects: health, relaxation, balance, agility, self   defence... and also internal aspects: security, stability, inner energy, self   knowledge.

The Tai-chi we practise is based on: Martial Art, Dao De Jing, Qui Gong and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
